This is a letter of gratitude from Woo Jung-hee, the facility director of the Sujeong Child Care Center in Changwon, South Gyeongsang Province, who is using ‘Dream Car’ as a school bus.
‘Dream Car’ project is a signature CSR activity from Hyundai Wia that provides needed vehicles to community welfare facilities, to help people with limited mobility have easier access to reliable transportation.

Annually, around 4,600 disabled people use our transportation support services more than 3,000 times. The vehicles we previously owned had exceeded 230,000 km in mileage, and had become prone to frequent breakdowns. Thanks to ‘Dream Car,’ we are safely helping disabled people get around.

Employees Voluntarily Donate 1% of Their Salaries to the Dream Car Fund
‘Dream Car’ project is operated through funds collected by Hyundai Wia’s charitable contribution program, ‘Miracle of 1%.’ ‘Miracle of 1%’ is a donation initiative where employees contribute 1% of their monthly salary to help the underprivileged. The funds collected are used to purchase ‘Dream Cars’ that replace outdated vehicles or supplement the shortage of vehicles owned by social welfare institutions.
170 Vehicles Donated to Social Welfare Organizations Over 10 Years
‘Dream Car’ project, which started in 2013, has donated a total of 170 vehicles to social welfare organizations and transportation facilities for those with mobility challenges. Particularly, in 2023, 500 million KRW collected through the ‘Miracle of 1%’ program, along with additional support from Hyundai Wia and Hyundai Motor Group, helped donate 20 vehicles, including 9 vans, 7 sedans, 2 wheelchair-accessible vans, and 2 refrigerated trucks, to social welfare institutions in the municipalities of Changwon, South Gyeongsang Province; Uiwang, Gyeonggi Province; and Seosan, South Chungcheong Province.
Through its vehicular support of social welfare institutions, Hyundai Wia has contributed to improving the quality of life in targeted communities by providing safety and freedom of mobility. The company plans to continue its diverse CSR activities to help community growth and spread a culture of togetherness.
