INNOCEAN believes that the power to transform the world comes from ‘new ideas and actions.’ The company brings this conviction to bear in a number of CSR activities. In particular, initiatives for university students provide continuous support for those aspiring to become professional creators, while also addressing significant societal issues.

The ‘S.O.S Contest’ is a program designed to support the growth of university students in creative fields, including advertising and marketing. Teams selected through the contest will receive scholarships of up to 10 million KRW, with total scholarship funds amounting to 30 million KRW.

Tackling and Offering Solutions for the Most Relevant Social Issues
The 2024 ‘S.O.S Contest’ was held under the theme ‘Ideas for a Better World in the Era of AI,’ aiming to create value for society using AI technology. AI has recently emerged as a highly relevant issue in the business environment, and is a significant topic as it opens new creative horizons and presents the potential to solve a variety of social issues more effectively.

In the rapidly changing modern business environment, data analysis, personalized marketing, and AI-based creative solutions have rapidly become trends. Reflecting this environment, INNOCEAN provided detailed topics for the contest such as ‘ideas to improve the lives of vulnerable groups through AI technology’ and ‘ideas to include vulnerable groups in digital & AI spaces.’

The Grand Prize-Winning Work, Demonstrating the Positive Feedback Loop of Bright Ideas
The team that won the grand prize in this contest suggested an idea for preventing voice phishing through their concept of an ‘AiTM: A Smart ATM that Analyzes Heart Rate to Prevent Financial Crimes.’ This innovative idea integrates AI technology into bank ATMs to analyze heart rates. If a user’s heart rate is abnormally high, a warning message is displayed, and if the heart rate and stress index exceed a certain level, the transaction is temporarily halted, helping to prevent financial crimes from occurring.

The team that received the grand prize said that their idea originated from the physical data-based training system used by the South Korean archery team at the 2024 Paris Olympics. In this way, the ‘S.O.S Contest’ is having a positive influence on our society through the power of creative ideas.

We came up with the AI ATM idea to prevent voice phishing through a video analysis system. I believe this contest gave us an opportunity to reflect on our society from our own perspective.
