Shaping a Brighter Future for Multicultural Youth, Harmonium
Harmonium is Kia’s social contribution program that supports the growth of multicultural youth while enhancing public awareness across society. The name Harmonium combines the words “harmony” and “emerging sprouts,” symbolizing the vision of creating a society where future generations from diverse cultural backgrounds can grow and thrive together in harmony.
Multicultural Youth: The New Face of Korea
Korean society faces a rapidly declining population due to low birth rates and aging, while the number of foreigners and multicultural families continues to grow. However, many multicultural youths still find themselves in educational blind spots or face discrimination. To help them grow into key members of Korea’s future, Kia has launched “Harmonium,” built on two pillars: education programs that support employment and entrepreneurship skills, and public awareness improvement campaigns.
In particular, Harmonium goes beyond simple educational support, aiming to help multicultural youth build self-esteem and stand proudly as members of society. In this multicultural era, what is most needed is collaboration across all sectors of society to create an inclusive and sustainable environment.

Building Practical Skills through Career Exploration and Internship Programs
The Harmonium program is designed to help multicultural youth take the lead in planning their career paths while developing practical skills for employment and entrepreneurship. Centered on four specialized fields—IT, F&B, video editing, and landscaping—the program offers a range of educational curricula and hands-on training opportunities that foster career growth and self-reliance.
Job training and internships are conducted in collaboration with leading social ventures and startups in each field. In addition, participants can take part in special programs such as guest lectures by multicultural mentors, visits to Autoland, and professional profile photo sessions.
One student shared, “Through Harmonium, I gained diverse experiences that broadened my perspective on the future and gave me the confidence to create new opportunities.” A field expert commented, “It was a valuable program that allowed multicultural youth to feel respected by society.” A parent added, “My child has become brighter, and seeing them accomplish tasks independently during the internship was deeply rewarding.”

Customized Information for Multicultural Youth through an Online Platform
Recognizing that online media is the primary source of information for young people, Kia launched a dedicated online portal, Harmonium (harmonium.kr). The platform enables multicultural youth across the nation to access self-reliance support resources anytime, anywhere. It offers high-quality content from trusted institutions, along with original video lectures on career planning, self-introduction writing, and interview preparation. The program also provides diverse career experience content such as “Automotive Planning,” “Success Stories of Foreign Models,” “A Day in the Life of a Nurse,” and “Insights from a CSR Expert.” Through these, students can indirectly explore a wide range of roles and professions, broadening their career perspectives and choices.
Through the Harmonium online platform, Kia is helping multicultural youth access self-reliance resources in one place and grow into active, contributing members of society.

An Awareness Campaign for Building a Harmonious Society
Kia recognized the importance of creating a social environment where multicultural youth can demonstrate their abilities free from prejudice. To this end, the company is conducting a variety of awareness campaigns that celebrate cultural diversity and promote the values of coexistence.
As a first step, Kia hosted the “Harmonium Festival” in October 2024 at Nodeulseom Island in Seoul.
The festival was designed as an open celebration where anyone could experience and connect with multiculturalism as a vibrant culture in its own right. Around 10,000 festivalgoers gathered on-site to enjoy programs such as talk concerts, outdoor music performances, and flea markets, deepening their understanding of multiculturalism.
At the talk concert held in the “Harmony Zone,” broadcasters Alberto Mondi and Kangnam shared personal stories of multicultural families under the theme “Beyond Differences, Toward Coexistence,” engaging in open and heartfelt dialogues with the audience. The outdoor concert that followed featured singer John Park and the group Sweet Sorrow, who delivered a performance where diverse voices came together in a single, harmonious resonance.
Across the venue, experiential exhibitions such as flea markets, sketch boards, and keyword art walls—featuring direct participation from people of multicultural backgrounds—captured the attention of visitors. Participants expressed high satisfaction, as it became an opportunity to set aside prejudices about multiculturalism and feel a sense of closeness with one another.

“Harmonium × Run Piano” is a traveling concert program hosted by Kia in collaboration with the project team “Run Piano,” led by world-renowned pianist Professor Park Jong-hwa. The program was designed to foster empathy for multiculturalism among people from all walks of life through the universal language of music, which transcends borders and languages.
During the performance, participants were able to appreciate the values of diversity and coexistence by comparing and appreciating songs that expressed the same theme in various moods.
After the performance, Professor Park Jong-hwa took the stage to engage with the audience and share his thoughts on multicultural awareness.
